Randy Travis is arrested for a DWI while naked
Singer Randy Travis has had a rough year with a previous arrest for public intoxication and an ongoing divorce battle with his ex wife. Just outside of Tioga, Texas, Travis was arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and a felony retaliation and obstruction charge. The second charge came as Travis allegedly threatened to kill the state troopers. He was brought to the station naked, though it's not clear whether or not he was first found to be naked or if it happened afterwards. He also had a black eye and several cuts on the face. He was booked, held overnight, and released on a $21,500 bond.
Twenty years later a bail jumper will finally serve his sentence
In February of 1990, Rochester, New York resident Christopher Rondeau was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison after being convicted of embezzling money from the bank where he worked. After being sentenced, Rondeau failed to surrender himself to the U.S. Marshals Office and went on the run. Over 20 years later, Rondeau decided to turn himself in to authorities in New Orleans after suffering a severe stroke that required medical treatment. Upon returning to New York, Rondeau pled guilty to bail jumping. An additional 8 to 14 months were added to his original sentence.
Bail set at $3 million for attacker who critically wounded a committeewoman and her son
In early August, Jimmy Morrison, a former neighbor of Democratic committeewoman Yvonne Gaines, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, criminal trespassing, and theft. Though the details are unclear, it is known that Morrison knocked on the committeewoman's door requesting to use the restroom around 3 o'clock a.m. Gaines and her son suffered stab-like wounds and bruises when Morrison reportedly attacked them with a metal object. Morrison was arrested later that day after presenting false identification to a law enforcement officer.
