Man Claiming to be Bondsman Scams Restaurant
HURST, TX – Employees at Black-eyed Pea, a popular local restaurant, were recently scammed by a man claiming to be a bondsman. The man claimed that a co-worker was in jail and needed $800 for bail. After the employees paid the money, they found that the co-worker was on vacation and that two other restaurants had been targeted in the past month. No arrests have been made in the case, but police are still investigating.

Bondsman Tackles Trafficking Problem
GASTON COUNTY, NC – Mark Derr, a North Carolina bail bondsman, leads RPR Services which is a rescue team dedicated to helping and rescuing victims of human trafficking. The four individuals who are part of RPR Services also work as bodyguards. Derr got involved with helping victims of human trafficking when a church contacted Derr after being contacted by a victim. It was the first time that Derr had worked with people who had been victimized in that way and after the experience he decided to do his part to help as many victims as he could. North Carolina, according to experts, is among the top ten states when it comes to the number of human trafficking operations.

Bondsman Works with Simmons For Bail
WOODBURY, NJ – Bill "El Wingador" Simmons, arrested and charged with cocaine distribution, is a multiple Wing Bowl champion and a local celebrity. Shamrock Bail Bonds has agreed to post his bond, using Simmons’ mother’s property as collateral. Simmons bond was set at $100,000 and the New Jersey bond company is confident that Simmons will appear for all of his court dates, since his mother’s home is being used as collateral and since Simmons appears remorseful for his actions.

Arrests Made in Bail Bonding Violations
RALEIGH, NC -- The North Carolina Department of Insurance has announced that Gary Eugene Borum and Teresa E. Boler have been arrested for bonding violations. Borum is accused of acting as an unlicensed bondsman while Boler is accused of aiding and abetting an unlicensed bail bondsman. The pair were arrested after an investigation into a shooting in Sanford. The incident occurred when Boler was trying to pick up a suspect. Further investigation showed that Boler and Borum were not licensed to act as bondsmen.

Bondsman Accused of Illegal Soliciting Inside Jail
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC – Bondsman Brunhilde B. Ross is accused of working with a Cumberland County Detention Center inmate to get new business for her North Carolina bail bonds company. Working with an inmate in this manner violates state bonding rules. Ross has been charged with one count of aiding and abetting bail bond solicitation and two counts of aiding and abetting an unlicensed bondsman. She allegedly worked with inmate Rainey Hope Crosby to drum up business. Crosby has also been charged with acting as an unlicensed bondsman and with solicitation of bail bonds.

Bondsman Helps Police Arrest Man
POCATELLO, ID — An unnamed bondsman helped police put a man away on drug charges. Ruben Moreno Sanchez told his Idaho bondsman that he would be selling methamphetamine to pay for his bail and the bondsman passed the information on to police. Using the tip, police searched Sanchez’s motel room, where they found drugs. Sanchez has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute.
