Bond in Zimmerman Case Revoked
SANFORD, FL -- George Zimmerman, accused of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin posted a $150,000 bond through a Florida bondsman in April. However, a judge has now ordered that bond to be revoked after accusing Zimmerman and his wife of lying about their finances. Zimmerman allegedly misrepresented his finances in order to get the bond. The man has pleaded not guilty to the second degree murder charges against him.

$2.5M Bond May Have Set Record
WICHITA FALLS, TX – According to a local Texas bail bondsman, the $2.5 million bond posted by the agency is the highest bond ever paid in Wichita County history. While authorities have not confirmed that it is the highest bond, it is certainly among the highest bonds posted in the region. The bond was for a man accused of hiring someone to murder his estranged wife’s new partner. URBONDSMAN Bail Bonds is the business that posted the bond and they have reported that the accused in the case has been very punctual with checking in with the agency.

Justice Bribery Case Continues
BROWNSVILLE, TX – A courtroom case involving District Judge Abel Corral Limas, a bail bondsman, and seven others in the justice system is ongoing. Limas pleaded guilty to racketeering charges last year and investigators claim that the pattern of bribery was widespread. The trial is expected to take ten days and will include testimony from a number of professionals, including attorneys, who were allegedly involved in the bribes.

Dakota County Jail Blocks Bondsmen
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN – The Dakota County Jail is banning bondsmen from standing near the jail to solicit clients. The move comes after some complaints have been made about the tactics the Minnesota bail bond agents use in finding clients. The bondsmen are now banned from all public areas of the jail, reportedly for the aggressive tactics used by a select few bondsmen to drum up business. Local bondsmen are upset with the move, saying that a few unprofessional bondsmen are harming business for everyone.

Men Alleging to be Bounty Hunters Arrested
WESTON, NE – Terry Fleming, Jerry Foster, and Cody Riesland have been arrested for carrying concealed weapons and for trespassing. They told authorities that they were bounty hunters looking for a target in order to repossess a vehicle. Nebraska does not have specific weapons laws for bounty hunters. The men allegedly had a gun and concealed knives all exceeding the legal length for the state. The men are also alleged to have threatened someone with a gun and cited for disturbing the peace.
